This is the science experiment about if the coke Mentos experiment would work with other fizzy drinks like Fanta\orange and sparkling lemonade. It didn't fizz as much as coke but Fanta exploded \fizzed   more than the sparking lemonade. Here is the video of me, Anita, Lauren and Zainab who is filming. Hope you enjoy!!!

On Tuesday and Wednesday we have to share our learning for maths ,reading and writing .this is called student led conference .I'm on Wednesday at 5 :15.

We did a test in room 10 about if Coffee ,Pepper,Sugar and Flour would dissolve in hot and cold water .Sugar and coffee dissolves in both and pepper and flour didn't dissolve in any .we also did science in our class and room 11.

Jimmy's horrible day!

Jimmy inspected himself in the puddle that lay upon the jungle ground .He saw a loose strand of hair.’Oh No the ladies will dread seeing me’ he declared .He quickly tucked it in.As he rubbed his hand across his elegant hair he felt a substantial rain drop land on his attractive hair.’Oh No ,my hair ,my hair its dreadful the ladies will hate it ‘he screeched .But Jimmy did not know the rain drop was just the commencement of his unpleasant luck.Because there was a bat nearby who was about to dismount in the centre of his fro! Blop! The bat landed in his fro!’No ,No this can’t happen,noooo’! he dreaded ‘.As he was sitting under the tree yelling at himself a drop of shimmering coconut oil landed in his fro and detangled his hair letting the bat soar free!Jimmy was soooooooooo elated! He celebrated all night!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Narrative writing

In the last couple of weeks room 12 has been doing narrative writing.  Miss H found a picture of a lion with a wig.Then we had to make up the most terrible thing that could happen to Jimmy the lion. It has to have a start, problem, resolution and moral message.

The Monorail

Zoom,Zoom It Felt like i was going to come clattering off when I went crashing speedily round the second corner .
I was just about screaming the whole way! The Monorail must be one of the main attractions at the camp!
When It was my turn I leaped In the cart and went zooming off in a flash !
we were at living springs camp .We were staying 3 days and two nights at the outstanding camp!
But the most outstanding thing about the camp was the monorail.The worst thing about the monorail was when you has to drag the cart back up the hill for the next person !It was exhausting !!!It felt if you were transporting an Elephant with wheels !you could see the person at the top complaining for me to bring the cart back up the hill more quickly and the grubby and arid grass.The Monorail would have to be one of my favorite activities at the camp.Cause It was very fast as fast as a rocket and it was just plain awesome!

A few weeks ago room 12 went to the city of Canterbury to learn about Christchurch.We looked at the chair lawn ,museum ,restart mall and went on the rebuild tour .We also have been looking at the emery spaces in Chirtchurch ,Where we can make new buildings . In other city's they have theme parks ,trampione parks ,colourful chairs and loads of people roads .

The Narwhals

Do you believe in unicorns? Of course not!What about sea unicorns?well these are what you will be reading about !you may not think they're true but they are!
What are Narwhals?
 The Narwhal Is a mid sized whale,with a
extraordinary unicorn horn ! Their horn can grow up to 2.7 meters .Their tusks are surprisingly not used  for hunting ! People use to think that when they found a dead Narwhal on shore,they has found the horn of a unicorn ! So how many Narwhals are there? There are about 10,000 to 45,000 Narwhals!Wow that's a lot of Narwhals!Sadly Narwhals are getting hunted by mad polar bears and killer whales .This will lower the Narwhals population a bit .Actually Humans are hunting Narwhals too!Did you know that humans are the dangerous Animals of all!

Where do they live ?

They live in the freezing Arctic circle ,In North Canada and Greenland.They do not go far away from the freezing ice in the Arctic .they like to move to move from one place to another place for a while ,and live up to 50 years in the wild.

What do they eat?

There diet is some fish, arctic cod, squid, shrimp and other marine animals.Interesting fact some narwhals have two unicorn horns ,but some don't even have any, but that's not very common .

It is amazing that Narwhals actually have a 30cm tooth. Even more  amazing  ,the tooth con reach up to 3ms long!Some Narwhals don't even have a tusk,No unicorn horn!

What do they look like?

They look very interesting because they have a skin colour similar to a Belugas whale.The colour is bluish-gray.Young Narwhals actually have a brown skin !They have a circular head.Narwhals look very cool!

Breeding

Females start breeding at 6 to 8  years of age .Narwhals are born between April and May .Pregnancy lasts for 14 mouths .

So now do you believe in unicorns ?Well I think you probably could now!These Animals are pretty fascinating Animals with A large horn like tooth!"I think theses animals are cool and really interesting animals with special  unicorn features"!

Christchurch

We are learning about Christchurch Canterbury . About what it was like in the past. We learnt about  events that happened in early Canterbury for an e.g the earthquakes and the Ballentynes fire and at the  moment the restart mall.we are going on a school trip to the inside of Canterbury soon.
